Earth & Mind Sneak Peak
Hi friends,
I hope you all had a great Easter. Sharing some images from the Earth & Mind chapter of Earth & Water. A roughly 60 page exploration of grounding’s impact on the brain. Hoping to have it ready by summer!
“Grounding has been found to have significant effects on the brain, including changes in EEG patterns and brainwave activity. Studies have shown here that grounding can increase alpha wave activity, which is associated with relaxation and reduced anxiety, while decreasing beta wave activity, which is associated with stress and tension. In addition, grounding has been found to modulate autonomic nervous system activity, promoting a shift towards parasympathetic dominance and reducing sympathetic activity. This shift can have a wide range of benefits, including reducing stress and anxiety, improving sleep quality, and promoting overall relaxation.
Furthermore, grounding has been found to have neuroprotective effects, potentially due to its ability to reduce inflammation and oxidative stress in the body. This may make it a promising intervention for conditions that involve neuroinflammation, such as Alzheimer's disease and multiple sclerosis.
Overall, while more research is needed to fully understand the mechanisms underlying grounding's effects on the brain, the existing evidence suggests that it can be a powerful neuromodulator. By modulating brainwave activity and autonomic nervous system function, grounding has the potential to promote relaxation, reduce stress and anxiety, improve sleep quality, and even have neuroprotective effects. As such, it may be a valuable addition to a comprehensive approach to promoting health.”
